Chicken Parmesan Wraps

I pinned these wraps on Pinterest a week or two ago and we made them last week! They turned out pretty yummy, but I would maybe tweak a few things. When you bake the chicken, I would suggest adding some seasoning or marinating it beforehand. There are tons of different seasons that you can find that are zero calories, but just remember to consider the sodium content as well. : ) Also, DON’T forget to add the spices/herbs to the wraps!

Ingredients:

  • Baked chicken breasts, cut into strips (we found that 1/2 of a chicken breast was enough chicken for one wrap)
  • 1/4 cup marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1/8 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/8 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 tsp Italian spice blend
  • Large low carb or whole grain wraps
  • Optional: 1/2 cup baby spinach leaves

Method (I’m writing in what I decided to do, because I prefer to warm things in the oven as opposed to microwaving, like the original post suggested):

1. Bake chicken in the oven at 375 degrees for approximately one hour (Check it as you get close to make sure you don’t over do it — Also, I always like to cover my pans with tinfoil so it keeps the moisture in and the chicken turns out so much better).

2. Cut up the chicken and place the chicken, red sauce, cheese, spinach (if you want), and spice blend on wrap bread. Wrap bread around filling and place in the oven until it is warmed through and the cheese is melted (This shouldn’t take too long as the chicken will already be pretty warm from just coming out of the oven previously).

3. ENJOY!
